Jacqueline Scott – FL
State of Florida
Pictured to the right are my dear mother and father, Jacqueline K. Scott and James R. Scott, in their twenties when life was wonderful.
My brother and I have always been close to both of our parents. When our dear father passed away, he expected us to watch out for our mother as he always did.
My brother and I did not know there were such laws that could and would take away someone’s God given rights and basically steal their life from them and their family. Our Father, Grandfather, Uncles and Great Uncles were all Veterans. They served the USA for FREEDOM – not to have their wife, sister, niece held against her will and denied the very freedom they sacrificed and served for. This is more than just a disgrace of a nation that prides itself in standing for freedom.
Now about 60 years later, my mother is held against her will and the wishes of my brother and myself. All my mother wants is to live with me; and I want to care for her.
My mother has told her guardian and the court monitor that she wants to leave the facility and be with me. This request from her and my brother and I has been ignored by the Pinellas County Court in Clearwater Florida.
She is held captive 30 miles from me – a two hour drive round trip. She is not allowed to go anywhere or even have visitors in her room. Visitation is limited and so are phone calls. She is treated as if she’s committed a crime and her sentence is life in prison. She needs memory care and speech therapy but receives neither.
My mother is basically housed and fed that is all. She is wrongfully denied a quality of life that she is entitled to according to the basic laws of humanity.
My brother and I want our mother released to live with me so she can be happy and healthy and live the life of our God given liberties that no one should ever be able to take away.
