Friend of Dan and Lisa Tudor’s Father John D. Tudor

Jean E. Carter was a second victim of our father John D Tudor’s caregiver.

Jean was a retired pathologist, he had divorced (let’s call her Lucy) a LVN . Jean was a heavy drinker who had started showing signs of dementia. Lucy agreed to care for him but wanting to secure her financial situation she remarried Jean. They bought a large home on several acres in Monterey County California.

Lucy would purchase large amounts of alcohol, hiding the bottles around the house so Jean would hunt for them and then drink them until he was unconscious. These statements were made by Lucy to me in person.

Lucy claimed she wanted everything that she felt she was entitled to and denied when Jean divorced her that’s why she remarried him.

In 2017 she rented a room to my father John Tudor, as helping caregiver in her unlicensed home, until he was well enough to move into his own home. Lucy knows John has more money than Jean, and started a sexual relationship with John immediately.

Now Jean is an inconvenience to her and he disappeared, supposedly to a care facility in Mexico. This was done with the help of Lucy’s grifter unscrupulous family. I personally overheard several calls from Jean begging and crying to come home.

When I was disgusted with Lucy’s behavior and clearly not going along with her agenda, I was cut off from my father immediately. My brother and I were deeply concerned about our father’s health and safety at this point.

Deeply concerned about what had happened to Jean Carter. We contacted Monterey Sheriff’s office and tried to report Jean Carter missing, they refused to even take a report. We contacted Elder Abuse Services; they took a phone report but did nothing. The Sheriff’s department claimed Lucy didn’t want to tell them where her husband was and they were okay with that. The Sheriff’s Office told me that it would violate HIPAA laws for them to call a care facility to verify if Jean Carter was alive and well. This was by far one of their most insulting lies.

During this time Lucy is telling anyone who would listen that John Tudor is the love of her life and she has been since the late 1950s. She has John, who’s suffering from dementia convinced of this. Lucy is removing everything Jean Carter owns from the Carter Trust and transferring everything to her name only. Lucy is still collecting Jean’s social security checks. Lucy is now controlling our father’s life, his medical, and his finances. Jean was not seen or heard from again.

Our father died in Lucy’s care of a morphine and fentanyl overdose in April of 2022. July 2022 a brief obituary was run for Jean Carter claiming he died in Arizona not Mexico. We don’t know what happened to Jean’s body or ashes even. He was as much a victim of this so called Caregiver, her unscrupulous greedy family, unethical Santa Cruz Attorney friend as our father. We grieve for him as well, and he deserves justice.
