Jasmine and I have a close bond and I want everybody to know what has been done to her.
What if she’s not the only one that has been done to but people have been scared to say anything. I’m not scared and I’m fearless. My mom used to tell me the only person you need to fear is God above and she is 100% right.
If do not fight for my child, who else is going to fight for her?
I must be her voice. I will not stop – nothing will stop me until my child is home and justice is served. Thank you for taking the time to read her story. #Justice for Jasmine
January 2017, Jasmine wrote a letter to the judge stating that she did not need any more services from CYS. The judge granted her the request.
At that time she still do not have dental work done but they felt she had the understanding of what the consequences would be if she did not get dental care.
Jasmine knew that she could get an infection she knew it could spread through her bloodstream.
Because of the two prior incidents, she became very frightened of the dentist.
February 1, 2017, Jasmine‘s grandfather passed away. I sent her back to school prematurely. I felt she needed to get back into the swing of things. Jasmine had a very close bond with her grandfather.
In March 2017, Jasmine had a very bad meltdown at school they transported her to Western Center Psychiatric Hospital. I was there for eight hours they brought us to a room with Jasmine. The doctor said there’s nothing the matter with her she lets her anxiety overtake her emotions he discharged her.
June 2017, Jasmine graduated high school at the age of 18. She wanted to graduate at that age.
July 2017, someone called adult protection services (APS) on me — making accusations against me saying that I was not letting Jasmine get her surgery that she needed — which that was very untrue.
In August 2017, she met with Steve Walkens and the lady from the County who were talking to both Jasmine and me.
Steve Walkens wanted to know if she was taking her pain medicine that was prescribed by the doctor I said yes and she even said yes. They had her sign a medical release. They never read it to her so she would understand what she was signing.
September 2017, I get a letter in the mail from a lawyer stating he was now Jasmine’s attorney because they was filing for guardianship. Everything on the paper with complete lies.
Dr. Lobo, who is with Washington Mental Health in Washington PA gave Jasmine all these diagnosis. He only saw her for 15 minutes and one time only.
November 2017, the Jewish Family of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania became Jasmine’s guardian. They did not ask if there was any family members; they just went straight to outside agency. So I was ordered to make sure Jasmine got to her dentist appointment. I had to make sure they was up-to-date when she was going.
In December 2017, I took her to the dentist and they felt she needed to go to pit dental due to her anxiety. At that time, I explained to the dentist that was not an option because of what went down. So ,we had a review hearing for January 2019.
I was at my cousin’s home. My mother called me and said that the police were there with Jewish Family Pittsburgh looking for Jasmine. I said why they are claiming I missed a court date? I never missed court dates I make sure I’m there when I’m supposed to be.
So they took Jasmine to Washington Hospital in Washington PA to get a check up to make sure she didn’t have any infection. She was cleared. She had nothing wrong with her.
Then they put her in a placement setting. Come to find out that’s not what the judge ordered at that time. She ordered for them to take her to the hospital to make sure she was fine.
Well at the group home, Jasmine had a meltdown they contacted me I kept on reassuring her everything was gonna be OK . She kept on saying, “Mommy I want to come home.”
They had 302 to upper Saint Clair psychiatric unit. I ended up getting a new hearing in front of a judge. She let Jasmine come home with me.
When I picked her up from the hospital, they didn’t give her any medicine. Her diagnosis was separation anxiety.
The judge ordered me to make sure Jasmine goes to the doctor, the dentist, and mental health. I tried to explain to them Jasmine has been missed diagnosed and over-medicated her whole life. Jas made a decision to go off of medications before they removed her, but when I got her back, Dr. Golden (who is Jasmine‘s family doctor) put her on Clondine and some other medicine because she was just so anxious. It was an as-needed medicine. That was understandable.
I would assure her daily that she was going to be fine. It took me a while to get her to trust.
They wanted me to take her to children’s hospital. Jasmine was over 18 years old for the dentist to see her at children’s, and I did that. She was supposed get surgery in May 2019 . I called the Hospital and asked what Jasmine’s after care would be. The nurse said she’s not getting any pain medication she don’t need any. I said her pain threshold is not good. I said she’s gonna need something because she’s getting all her teeth removed that’s painful.
So I took the initiative and called her previous surgeon who did her prior dental procedures. I got her an appointment. She did a consult. At that time, she had a guardian and it was with Jewish Family.
June 3 of 2019, Jasmine had her surgery. The guardian was never there and she left it up to me, which I have no problem doing that.
As we were getting into Canonsburg, Jasmine starts waking up from anesthesia. She realizes all her teeth are gone and she is highly – highly – highly mad, which I don’t blame her because she got lied to. She went to my mom’s house, threw steaks in the oven, and started crying, saying “I can eat steaks no more.” She flipped out. I called the Guardian to find out what they wanted me to do. I was told I knew this was gonna happen, good luck and hung up the phone.
As her mom, I knew something wasn’t right. So, I called an ambulance and took her to Washington Hospital. The ER doctor checked her and he said there’s nothing wrong with her she had a reaction to the anesthesia and her anxiety got the best of her she was going to be OK.
July 2019 Judge Emery gave me guardianship back of Jasmine. I was so happy, I thought this nightmare was going to end. No, it was just starting. She put in the order for Jasmine to go back to mental health where there’s been so many issues there with all my children. I did what the court asked me to do.
In November 2019, I took Jasmine to mental health in Washington PA. The therapist and Jasmine‘s worker from the ID Side was there also. Jasmine looked at the therapist and said “I don’t want medication” which that is her choice. The therapist said that she couldn’t force her to take medication irregardless if she’s deemed incapacitated because it’s called chemical restraint and it’s against the law.
In November 2018, she was supposed to have a second visit with the therapist. When I called to double check Jasmine‘s time, the receptionist said the therapist was out sick with the flu. Then we spoke and she just felt therapy wasn’t going to work. Which I was OK with that as well. Jasmine knows how to deal with her anxiety. She’ll go for walks listen to music she’ll take her dog for a walk; she’ll color; she’ll paint she’ll bake. All are good coping skills.
January 2019, we got a new judge on the case. Judge Disella. We did it over the phone because everybody was sick in our home with the flu. Then he rescheduled it for February. He told me I need to make sure the guardian reporting form was done. I explain to him I was never told by the previous judge to do that but I would do it with no problem.
February 2019, I went in front of him he asked where Jasmine was. I said she sick. He asked me why I wasn’t making her take medication and I tried to explain to him that she did not want to take medicine any more and that I cannot physically hold her down. That’s against the law. Also it’s as-needed medicine, not daily.
He made me get Jasmine there, so my mom brought her. He’s like you can’t do anything right. I’m taking guardianship off of you and I’m going to appoint for someone from the courts. My mom is there. He didn’t ask my mom to be Jasmine’s Guardian.
So he appointed Erin Dickerson to be Jasmine‘s guardian. She text me and wanted to meet with Jasmine in March. She came to the apartment. She said to Jasmine, ” I’m not gonna take your way from your mom.”
When Jasmine gets very nervous she gets very giddy. Let me make this clear when he made her guardian of Jasmine, she never changed her SSI –nothing.
I took Jasmine to the doctor in February. The doctor said that was best she’s looked in a very long time. She’s lost weight. She was looking so healthy.
The end part of March, the Guardian text me and said , “You moved. You did not tell me.” I said it wasn’t like that. I had to let other people know first. She was like – I will be there on April 3 and I want Jasmine‘s SSI check, I said “I can’t do that. You’re not her represented payee. “
Well April 2, she texts me and says I can’t come – we are going to have to meet April 9. She brought the SSI up again so I just ignored it because I didn’t want another argument.
On April 9 I contacted her at 10 am and I said, “I am at a doctor so we’re gonna have to push up the time or change the date.” She’s like, “No I’m going away Friday.” She sent me these text messages, accusing me of taking Jasmine to a doctor and getting Vicodin’s and a muscle relaxer. I said, That’s not true; that’s not how it went down.” I said, “She went to the doctor in February and the doctor ordered an x-ray and I was taking her to get the x-ray. She was crying that her back was hurting her. I didn’t know if it was a kidney infection or anything so I took her to the emergency room and I told the doctor what her PCP thought was wrong (maybe scoliosis). He said absolutely…she don’t have scoliosis. It was a pulled muscle.”
I called the pharmacist, with the guardian on the phone, to verify the last prescription for Jasmine was June 3 of 2018.
She was like I’ll be down there at 3 pm to see Jasmine.
Her guardian, Erin Dickerson, went in front of the judge and said that Jasmine was in danger with dental and physical.
Let me say that the judge never called to verify with the physicians if Jasmine was in danger of losing her life.
They removed her with an order from a judge. There 13 sheriffs at my home. They were given orders to kick in my door.
I have been fighting the court system since Jasmine has been taken. I have been accused of so much.
Her guardian in September 2019 told the judge and Jasmine claims child abuse against me other accusations with no proof. I did like a fundraiser asking for help to get some appliances. Someone screenshot it and send it to her Guardian and the judge submitted it in as evidence that did I committed a crime in that.
Since Jasmine has been removed, she has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals. She has been to so many different group homes. This has done so much harm to Jasmine.
My mom, my daughter (which is Jasmine sister), and my son (which is Jasmine‘s brother) got to see her three times December 2019 and twice in January 2020.
Last visit my mom had with Jasmine, my mom asked the staff members, “Can we please see Jasmine on 1 February” because of her grandfather’s anniversary, which Jasmine writes on the calendar, “I’m going to see Mom.”
Her Guardian text my mother and said, “The only way you’re going to see Jasmine – you tell her she’s never coming home -that’s mental abuse. ” I called the director of the group home, which is PA mentor, he did nothing about it.
Friday I got an alert Jasmine was on Facebook but I did not know it was Jasmine. I asked who is this. Her sister, Hanna, said to go look on Jasmine‘s Facebook page. Now it says mom home – my heart sank to my stomach.
I had all these thoughts racing through my head all these emotions like did she run away and is she in danger?
If she’s so incompetent, how did she remember her username and passcode from over a year ago and gave an address with her location?
I have not seen my daughter for over a year. I have not talked to my daughter. We have a very very close bond.
I am begging: Please help me! Please get someone to help me before something bad happens.
No judge should ever done this. No Guardian should ever have this type of power. Her guardian is supposed to be a lawyer I can’t even find her license number in Pennsylvania.
Jasmine has expressed a numerous occasions that she wants to come back HOME.
