        The Enablers

Guardianship and conservatorship abuse  is the very defination of "elder abuse!"

Guardianship/conservatorship abuse exists because judges assist unethical fiduciaries either by lack of oversight, callousness, or by knowingly and willingly aiding and abetting.    (Guardianship is necessary but it is easily misused misapplied, or manipulated and the very people the law is designed to protect - and their families - are harmed emotionally, physically, and/or financially -- the very definition of "Elder Abuse.")

Here's where to report them - and a hint:

Hint:  Before you file, there are two things you must study:  your state guardianship/conservatorship statutes and your state judicial conduct complaint procedures.  Many states attempt to intimidate the complainant into silence by "suggesting" that confidentiality is a requirement.  Read that part of the law carefully and you may see through it!  (Confidentiality does not protect the public interest.)

Read your state's rules of court and the judicial canons - and use that same language in your filing.

Lighten up!

At the height of a political corruption trial, the prosecuting attorney attacked a witness. "Isn't it true," he bellowed, "that you accepted five thousand dollars to compromise this case?"

The witness stared out the window as though he hadn't hear the question.

"Isn't it true that you accepted five thousand dollars to compromise this case?" the lawyer repeated.

The witness still did not respond.

Finally, the judge leaned over and said, "Sir, please answer the question."

"Oh," the startled witness said, "I thought he was talking to you."

Also, take advantage of informing others of your experience through public forums.
